No one answers the phone with a few attempts. Mail cluster broken for a while… 1st class shipping package trackings state delivered in or at mailbox. Home all day, no packages delivered with nothing on security cameras. No answer calling the area post office and it rings and rings.
I must be living right or the stars were aligned. My mailbox key quit working after 18 years and I called the Encino Park Post Office to report the issue and ask them to repair, and the mail carrier, Bruce (for my address) said they would take care of it. I hung up the phone at 9:32, and as I was getting into my car at 10:10 a guy was walking up to me with the new keys. Yes, you read that right, 38 minutes from the time I hung up, until the replacement was done and the repairman delivered the new keys. And my house is 5 miles from the Post Office as the crow flies. A few hours later as I was driving home in the neighborhood, I saw our mail carrier and thanked him personally, and he relayed that the guy who replaced the lock and delivered the keys, was a supervisor (Rubin). Talk about service, and leading by example. Wow, I am so impressed. I was expecting a week or so to get this fixed and new keys, also dreading having to go to the post office daily to pick up my mail until the repair was done. Was I pleasantly surprised. I recently retired from 30 years in the Army and another 17 years working Federal Govt Civil Service. I have never seen service this fast. This experience may be a fluke, but Thank you Encino Park USPS employees Bruce and Rubin. You are what right looks like.
This location has lost my last 3 packages. The carrier will put a key in my mailbox to open a package box and when I open it, there’s no package. I’m tired of paying for items I do not get and the supervisor of this location could care less. On to UPS and Fed Ex I go.
