I tracked a USPS package and I was informed that ‘Package Delivered’,,

However, there was NOTHING in the mailbox on Saturday afternoon, late. I checked the box again early today, Jan 22, 2019, and box was empty. After 1 pm I checked again and found regular mail AND the USPS pkg, which make me wonder why the package was ‘out for delivery’ and ‘delivered’ according to tracking on Jan 19, but NOT delivered. I suspect my Saturday Jan 19 mail was perhaps held by the carrier until today. As I stated above, I received NO MAIL of any kind on Jan 19. With the tradition of ‘Neither rain, snow, etc’ is it common for the carrier just to skip a mailbox or two? Perhaps there was no person available for delivery, but in that case I would expect tracking to NOT indicate ‘DELIVERED’
