Post offices holidays 2022

The U.S. Postal Service observes 11 official holidays annually, including Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Post offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17, and the Postal Service will not deliver regular mail or packages. While brick-and-mortar facilities are closed, some post office services are available online 24/7, including on holidays.

If a holiday falls on a Saturday, for most USPS employees, the preceding Friday will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, for most USPS employees, the following Monday will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes. Juneteenth National Independence Day will be recognized as a holiday eligible to USPS full-time and part-time career employees.
