South Point Post Office Reviews

  1. I received a letter from the South Point, OH Postmaster stating that my mailbox had to be moved due to there being “inadequate turnaround space for our delivery vehicles.” 99.9% of the time there is adequate turnaround space for the USPS vehicles to turn around. On one occasion since I moved here in September of 2015 there has been “inadequate turnaround space” which was when I was moving my camper for a fence installation. I was in the process of removing the “blocking” vehicle when, rather than wait two minutes the carrier turned around “safely” in a neighbor’s driveway and drove off. The carrier saw me moving the vehicle but drove away anyway. There are already multiple mailboxes at the location they are ordering us to put our mailboxes. The number of mailboxes there creates a traffic hazard while the carrier is delivering the mail and customers are collecting it because it is blocking the entrance to Private Drive 700 which is about 15 feet from a busy county highway. Putting even more there adds more risk of being rear-ended or hit by passing cars while trying to pull onto the highway. This appears to be an issue of impatience by the carrier rather than safety as they are already creating a traffic hazard. Your concern for the carrier’s and our safety is unfounded based on your behavior related to the positioning of multiple mailboxes within a few feet of a major county road. The answer is not to make everyone get their mail in that single very busy location nor is it to make everyone go to the post office for their mail. The safest place for the mailboxes is at your customers’ houses. It may occasionally be a little inconvenient for the carrier but it is not a matter of their or our safety.
I’m prepared to take this to whatever level is necessary for a remedy.

  2. Horrible service. Someone there cant read, which one would think would be a requirement.
Not only that but they lie and steal as well. I’m going to have to call the head postmaster for the country about this place. No lady, you dint do your job, because if you had I would have my mail.
