I am never the type of person who wants to bother. When I go to the post office and I see them sorting mail, I will never say, “Can you check that to see if there’s something in there for me?” I work nights. I get off at 2:30 am. So I stay awake to go to the post office on Saturdays because if I go to sleep, I’ll never wake up in time (Manchaca Post Office is only open 9-11am on Saturdays). So I don’t appreciate being told, IN FRONT OF SEVERAL OTHER CUSTOMERS, that my package has been there for two weeks. Uh, I came in last Saturday. If I didn’t get the package, that’s on you. I CAN’T COME IN EVERY FRICKEN DAY UNLESS Y’ALL WANT TO OPEN AT 2:30AM FOR ME. Unless I’m desperately waiting for something, I won’t tell them to go back and check for something else. I just make a plan to come next Saturday. The funny thing is, the two times that I WAS desperately waiting for something, and I asked them to go back and check, I got met with an annoyed look. So make up your mind… Do you want me to ask you to double and triple check each time? Or do you want me to not bother you and accept whatever you give me and just come back next week? You can’t have it both ways. The WORST thing that someone can do is to try to embarrass me in a room full of people. I don’t appreciate trying to be “made an example of”. That’s exactly the reason why I stopped going to the Mockingbird station. I thought a little country post office would have nicer people. If I had enough money, I’d rent a box at the UPS store.
