I am shocked that there are not more complaints regarding this post office. The lines are outrageous. They actually installed a tent over the walkway so that there would be shade for the poor folks waiting for multiple hours in line outdoors and wrapped around the building. Nice gesture, but how about fixing the inside of the post office so that customers can be serviced in a timely manner instead?
This is the WORST post office in Hawaii. It was slow BEFORE covid, but is now spectacularly inefficient. People stand in line for a MINIMUM of two hours, whether to pick up a package or buy a stamp. I have frustratingly had three of my packages returned to sender when I never even received a slip asking me to pick them up. I have also stood in that horrific line, picked up my packages and gone home, only to find that I was NOT given the one that Iʻd received the slip for… and then had to go BACK to standing in line AGAIN for HOURS in order to get the correct one. While workers are friendly, they move at a glacial pace and have ZERO organization behind the scenes. Customers can hear them calling out to each other “have you seen a package for…” because they canʻt find anything. There definitely needs to be a change in management!
Why can’t the Keauu Post Office have an outside self service shipping machine like the one in Kihei, sure would help with the long lines.
