Briargate Post Office Reviews

  1. I would not have believed this story from someone else if it had not just happened to me. I work for the City Fire Department, in my 29th year, so I know a thing or two about customer service. About 3 pm today, I was sleeping (I work 24 hour shifts) when I was awakened by the front doorbell, downstairs. As I got up to look outside it rang again. I saw a USPS van parked in front of the house. I quickly put on a pair of shorts and an old Bronco t-shirt, and headed downstairs. When I opened the door, a USPS employee was walking back to the house from the van. She actually tossed her head back, rolled her eyes, and chastised me, saying “Why did you wait until I filled this out to come to the door?” She holds up a USPS slip. I explained I was sleeping. She went back to the van and got a small package. As she returned, she stopped and told me I had to come outside to get the package because I had a dog in the house and she was not going to come to the door. I am barefoot, just woke up, hair not combed, and tell her “I’ll shut the door”. I shut it, and wait for her to come up to it. I see her through the opaque glass in the door, come to the entrance and immediately leave. I open the door, and see the slip she had filled out stuck to the door frame. She gets back in the van. I ask “Where is the package?” She yells from the van “You have to sign for it…..shut the door!” I shut the door, now standing in front of my house, barefoot, hair messy, an old t-shirt and shorts on. She starts the van….does a three point turn in the street, and drives away!!!! I have never written a complaint about anybody…..it is usually just not my style. But the way I was treated at my own home by one of your employees deserved a few minutes of my time. I also find it extremely interesting that the slip she left is checked with “No authorized recipient available.”, which was certainly not the case. Imagine being asleep, in your own home, after being up more than 24 hours, and being chastised by a total stranger because you took too long to get to your front door. Once, again…..unbelievable, if I hadn’t witnessed it myself!

  2. I had informed delivery and was notified my priority mail was delivered in at my mailbox at 1:20pm. The mail carrier was there but no package was in my mailbox. Where it’s my mail? I can’t get anyone on the phone at the post office for Briargate to find my package. The mail carrier said some of the drivers scan all their mail before they even leave the post office so as to not have to return to a residence if their package isn’t delivered. That is not acceptable.
